Copenhagen Puppet Festival is organised by Børnekultustedet og Kultur Vesterbro in collaboration with Figurteateret i Nordland, Teaterhuset, UNIMA-Denmark, Vesterbro Library og The Polish Embassy.
Copenhagen Puppet Festival aims to introduce the audience to the many facets of puppetry. Through a variation of arrangements and performances for children and adults plus debates and films we will try to come all the way around this creative media.
Copenhagen Puppet Festivals vision of the future is to become an international event to be held every second year.
An event where puppeteers, enthusiasts, organisers and newcomers in the world of puppetry can meet and share its many joys and where professionals can inspire new talent. Where gifted young puppeteers can try out their material on a live audience and where the public can either have a small taste or try the entire puppetry menu.
Børnekulturstedet og Kultur Vesterbro have formerly in collaboration and seperately organised puppet performances. Among other things they have been behind Punch and Judy and the brats; The Special Edition of Stuffed Puppets RE:FRANKENSTEIN; plus Fokus On Puppet Theater (www.dukketeater.org)
