In 2011 Copenhagen will host the 3rd biannual theatrical festival based entirely on puppetry, Copenhagen Puppet Festival. The festival targets the theatre loving adult audience opening a window into the magic world of puppetry.
For the first time the festival will primarily focus on Danish performances along with a few selected international acts of high artistic quality. True to tradition the festival will also host workshops, exhibitions, debates and more as part of its off-stage programme.
Copenhagen Puppet Festival aims towards spreading the great secrets of puppetry both to theatre goers and within the puppetry community. Our performance program offers spectacular, astonishing and inspiring puppetry while our off-stage program is designed to strengthen the international puppet community, inspire the Danish stage arts and create awareness about puppetry in general.
